Lot #4 Blk#2 Drews Road
Sprague River, Oregon 97639
Gorgeous views of the Sprague River and Sprague River Valley from this large, 1.52~acre property located on the paved, county maintained road!
The property slopes gently upward from Drews Road offering many possible building sites! Power is across the street, it would need a well and septic prior to building. This part of Klamath County receives around 300 days of sunshine per year! Even though power is close, you may decide to use alternate power such as solar or wind, or maybe you have plans to live completely off-grid! Many people in this area make that choice. Be sure and and check with local jurisdictions for the costs and viability of your plans. Modular homes are allowed here, as well as stick-built homes, and there are no time limits for building. If you are looking at new house plans, be sure and consider a two-story house, as it would maximize the incredible views from this parcel. There are many pristine rivers and mountain lakes nearby, and millions of acres of public lands just waiting for you to explore! Hiking, horseback riding, OHV and mountain biking, camping, hunting, fishing, flyfishing, swimming in the clear waters, or just quietly exploring the wilderness, there is so much to do here! It does get cold in the winter months, but the area is high desert, and the summers are warm and pleasant.
It's only about 5 miles from the town of Sprague River from here where there is a store, Post Office, deli, gas station and a few other small shops.
The town of Chiloquin is about 20 miles away, and sits just off of Hwy 97 where you can travel south to the city of Klamath Falls, or north to the Klay-Mo-Ya Casino and another 100 miles or so to Bend, Oregon, which is the largest city in Central Oregon.
If you have been looking for a spot to get away from a busy lifestyle and relax, or a place to use as a base camp for hunting or fishing the local rivers and lakes, perhaps bring your horses and explore the area on horseback, this would make a perfect spot! Power Across the Street - The area has many nice existing stick-framed homes. County well logs show that there are good wells and successful perc tests in the area.
Bring Your Horse! - When we stopped at The Hitching Post in the town of Sprague River, we noticed that there is still a place to hitch your horse! There is also a deli/cafe, a convivence store with fuel, post office, and a few other small shops. We were here pretty early in the morning, but usually the Hitching Post is open with a few locals out front to greet you with the news of the day and some good conversation. This property is large enough where you could have a horse or a few animals.
Gently Topography - The air is clean and crisp here, and at nighttime the stargazing is absolutely spectacular! Imagine, this could be your view when you wake up in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea, and at night you could sit out on your balcony and watch the stars!
Google Earth View - This is a Google Earth photo of the property elevated. It's easier to see the gentle slope of the property upward from the road which would allow fabulous views of the river and surrounding valleys.
Gorgeous Treed Property - The soil here is volcanic with loam from the valley and a soft layer of sand and forest mulch under the trees. The area is high desert, and receives around 300 days of sunshine. It does get cold in the winters, so you may have to protect your garden from spring frosts, but the summers are warm and pleasant.
Nearby Williamson River - This photo of the Williamson River was taken in Chiloquin from the boat launch area at the park. Chiloquin is just about 15 minutes away. It is a perfect spot to launch your boat for early morning fishing trips! Both the Williamson and Sprague Rivers offer world-class fly fishing and trophy-sized trout.
Unlimited Nearby Recreation! - If you choose not to build right away, this property will make a great place for a base camp or vacation spot to explore the nearby wilderness, lakes, and rivers. The Freemont-Winema National Forest is nearby with over 1,000,000 acres of public lands! If you love outdoor activities, this is the perfect place! Hunting, fishing, horseback riding, fly-fishing camping, hiking, OHV riding, there is so much to do!
Paved, Well Maintained Road - The county road is in great shape and well maintained for exceptionally access to the property, even in the winter. There are several homes nearby, and power is just across the street.
Pine and Juniper Trees - The property slopes gently and is covered with a few pines, but mostly Western Juniper, low-growing sage and rabbit brush and native grasses.
Views of the River and Valley! - This is the view looking across Drews road at the lush Sprague River Valley and the slow meandering river flowing through it. It would be just a short walk from your property to the water for fishing or swimming in the cool clear water.
Klamath Falls - The property is in a rural area of the county, but it is by no means remote. It is only about 30 minutes to Klamath Falls where they have large stores like Walmart and Home Depot, an excellent hospital, schools and an airport. If you travel north on Hwy 97 at Chiloquin you play or have lunch at the Kla-Mo-Ya Casino or traveling further north will lead you to Bend, Oregon which is the largest city in Central Oregon and a hub for recreational, cultural, educational, agricultural, and artistic events.
Gentle Slope From The Road - The road here is well maintained by the county for easy access. As always, make sure you check with the county and local jurisdictions for wells, perc, power, and septic requirements.
Sprague River - The Sprague river meanders through the valley below this property and meets the Williamson River just south of Chiloquin where it flows on to provide the Upper Klamath Lake with its primary source of fresh water. Both rivers provide excellent fishing!
